I’m a senior iOS engineer with 8+ years of commercial experience, based in the USA.
What I work on #
Most of my career has gone into the parts of mobile apps that are hard to get right: real-time calling (CallKit, AVAudioSession, LiveKit), message sync and local storage, and large legacy codebases built on Core Data. I built and maintained a calling stack from scratch on my own, which taught me more about system behavior than any documentation did. These days I also explore SwiftData in side projects.
What I’ve built #
Picklez is a party game for iPhone and iPad that I designed, developed and published on my own: an Alias-style word-guessing game combined with “would you rather” dilemmas across 24 content topics. It’s built in SwiftUI, with unlockable content packs sold through StoreKit 2 (async/await for transaction handling and entitlement verification). I owned the whole lifecycle: architecture, UI/UX, App Store submission and ASO. The app collects no user data by design. Free on the App Store, in English and Russian.
How I think about it #
I’d rather understand why something works than get it to “kinda work”. That’s the whole idea of this blog: notes from digging into the details, written down so the next person (often me, six months later) doesn’t have to dig again.
Outside of code #
Homelab tinkering, reading quarterly reports as an investor, and photography.
